The fourth generation Toyota Prius was unveiled earlier this week, and it draws its styling inspiration from Mirai, which probably isn’t a good place to start.
We can kinda understand why the Mirai hydrogen fuel cell car has grotesquely odd styling, it needs to stand out and make a statement. If it veers into the ugly, fine, there aren’t that many sales at stake.
But the Prius is Toyota’s true halo car, and this latest model is challenging to love, if even you’re a real hybrid fan.
The company isn’t saying much about the new Prius before it’s full debut later this year. Rumors have it that it will once again have a 1.8-liter Atkinson cycle engine and a bunch of electric motors.
Mileage is said to be improved by around 10 percent.
