China loves long wheelbase version of entry-level luxury sedans. Now, Volvo is taking a punt and bring one of them to the US: the Volvo S60 Inscription.
The LWB Volvo S60L — S60 Inscription for the US — is only made in China; in fact, it’s the only S60 variant currently made in China.
Compared to the short wheelbase S60, the S60L/Inscription has an overall length and wheelbase that’s grown by 80mm (3.2 inches). All of the extra length has been grafted on between the B-pillar and the rear wheels, meaning more space for rear seat passengers.
The Chengdu-made Volvo S60 Inscription will start entering American showrooms from the second quarter of 2015. Pricing and specifications have yet to be fully announced.
