The next generation Toyota Tacoma and Tundra pickup trucks, due from 2021 onwards, will reportedly share a common platform, codenamed F1.
Sources have Automotive News the new pickup truck platform is nearing completion, and could be unveiled as early as 2021.
Moving the two trucks to a shared platform will reduce production complexity and design costs, but could come with some compromises.
With the Tacoma being the far more popular of the two trucks, Toyota is likely to priortize this truck in any development choices.
