Tesla has confirmed it has begun delivering Model Y SUVs to buyers, only a year after the car was unveiled and way ahead of schedule.
Unusually for Tesla the Model Y is coming well ahead of schedule. The company initially said the first Model Ys would be heading to customers in September 2020.
Based on the Model 3 sedan, the Model Y has a taller body and is sold as an SUV. Unlike the Model X (which is based on the Model S), the Model Y doesn’t have fancy gullwing doors.
