Nissan is leaving the US van market with the NV200 compact van and NV full size van ending production in the summer of 2021.
Designed by Ian Johnson, host of Xtreme Off-Road, the X Project is a Nissan NV2500 HD van with 22 inch ground clearance, a 5-liter V8, and 37 inch tires.
The 5.6-liter V8 that’s offered as an option in the full-size Nissan NV Cargo and Passenger vans will have more power and torque for the 2017 model year.
The 2017 Nissan NV now has an optional, more powerful 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gas engine with 375hp (280kW) and 387 lb-ft (525Nm), and a 7-speed auto.
The Nissan NV-Series vans are based on the Titan pickup truck and are sold in the USA, Canada and Mexico in three cargo classes: NV1500, NV2500, NV3500.
With its new warranty offer Nissan is hoping to snare more of the commercial van market with its newly minted full-size NV and smaller NV200 vans.
