Toyota is finally giving fans the 86/GT86/Scion FR-S coupe they’ve always wanted: one with more power. But there’s just one small catch.
Twin to the Toyota 86/Scion FR-S, the Subaru BRZ has a the same RWD, 2-liter boxer-4 layout, differing only in suspension setup and front fascia design.
Subaru will produce 700 MY2016 WRX STI and 500 BRZ Hyperblue models for the USA with said blue paint, blue highlights and limited edition features.
The limited edition Series Hyperblue models of the Subaru WRX STI and BRZ have eye catching blue paint. WRX STI limited to 700 cars, BRZ to 500.
Just 300 Subaru BRZ tS units will be made for Japan, including 100 yellow cars. All feature STI suspensions, wheels and trim, but no extra power.
For the 2016 model, the Scion FR-S coupe has had its price cut by US$365, and a reversing camera and touchscreen audio system added as standard.
Toyota USA has tinkered with the trim, specifications, colors and pricing for its rear-wheel drive Scion FR-S coupe. Still no turbo or more power, though.
