Surely even the biggest Tesla fanbois knew when they first saw the Cybertruck: it was going to be late. And so it has turned out.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a recent earnings call that there might a few Cybertrucks produced this year, but volume production will have to wait until 2022.
The company also said in the call that the Cybertruck is now in beta testing, meaning that (really) it will be too late for it to go into production this year.
All of this was confirmed on the Tesla website when the booking button indicated the first Cybertrucks won’t be delivered until 2022.
