The Skoda Vision S at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show will preview a new 3-row , 7-seat SUV that will sit above the current Yeti SUV.
The Skoda Vision S has a length of 4.7 meters (185 inches), and has three rows of seats. Although the Vision S has six seats spread across three years, expect the production car to be offered with both six and seven seat configurations.
Under the hood, the Skoda Vision S has a plug-in hybrid drivetrain with a total of 165kW (225hp), which can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 7.4 seconds and hit a top speed of almost 200km/h (124mph). Fuel economy is said to be 1.9L/100km or 123.7mpg, with CO2 output rated at 45g/km.
The drivetrain features a 1.4-liter turbocharged TSI gas engine with 115kW (156hp) and 250Nm (184 lb-ft), and an electric motor with 40kW (54hp) and 220Nm (162 lb-ft) all mated to a six-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission directing power to the front wheels.
At the rear there’s a second electric motor with 85kW (114hp) and 270Nm (199 lb-ft) independently powering the rear axle. The driver or the on-board computers can choose between various drive modes. The electric motors are powered by a 12.4kWh lithium-ion battery in front of the rear axle.
The new SUV will be based on the MQB architecture will sit above the existing Yeti. The production version of the Vision S will be the second showroom ready car to benefit from the brand’s new design direction.
