The third generation Skoda Superb has been revealed ahead of the Geneva Motor Show, and it’s much more elegant machine than the outgoing model.
The new car retains the previous models’ hatchback-masquerading-as-a-sedan looks, but instead of the second generation car’s bulbous butt, the new car looks rather normal. The second-gen’s tailgate which could be opened as either via the boot lid or the entire hatch has been junked in favour a simpler design.
Visually the new Superb is based on the Vision C concept car, albeit toned down for production.
Features available on the new Superb in a three-zone climate control system, panoramic sunroof, wirelessly heated windscreen, kick-to-open tailgate, automated parking, active cruise control, autonomous city emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, fatigue monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and two umbrellas stored in the front doors.
The Superb will be offered with a choice of five petrol motors and three turbo-diesel ones. Both front- and all-wheel drive variants will be offered.
