The Skoda Atero concept “coupe”, based on the Rapid hatch, has been built by 26 vocational students from Skoda Academy.
To create the Atero, the students moved the B pillar back, extended the front doors, eliminated the rear doors, increased the slope of the roof, and moved the slanting point for the roof forward. The rear hatch also has a faster rake to go along with the new roof.
You can still see the C pillar, although it’s partially hidden by the large rear side window.
Other changes include hood vents, new tail lamps, large exhaust tips, and sportier bumpers. The Atero is powered by a 92kW/125PS 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The Atero follows on from the 2014 CitiJet and 2015 Funstar pickup apprentice built concepts.
