PSA Peugeot-Citroen is about unveil its first pickup truck in several decades, and it will likely be based on the latest generation Toyota Hilux.
Autocar reports that, at the recent launch of the Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy/Dispatch, both Maxime Picat (Peugeot boss) and Denis Martin (CEO of PSA Peugeot-Citroen Europe) fended away questions regarding a pickup by saying that an announcement is due next week.
With the Peugeot Expert/Traveller and Citroen Jumpy/Dispatch/SpaceTourer a co-development with Toyota’s Proace, and the Peugeot 108, Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo also all based on a shared platform, it’s widely expected that the new Peugeot-Citroen pickup will be based on the “unbreakable” Toyota Hilux.
