With its new warranty offer Nissan is hoping to snare more of the commercial van market with its newly minted full-size NV and smaller NV200 vans.
The new 5-year/100,000 mile warranty covers the NV cargo van (above), NV passenger van and NV200 cargo van (below). The new warranty offer replaces the previous 3-year/36,000 mile basic warranty and 5-year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty.
Based on the Nissan Titan pickup, the North America-only NV is available in NV1500 form with a load capacity of 2,590lb (1,175kg), the NV2500 HD that’s able to carry 3,142lb (1,425kg) and NV3500 HD that can manage 3,925lb (1,780kg). Two roof heights are available.
A 261hp/281 lb-ft (194kW/381Nm) 4-litre V6 is standard on the NV1500 and NV2500 HD, while a 317hp/385 lb-ft (236kW/522Nm) 5.6-litre V8 is optional on the NV2500 HD and standard on the NV3500 HD.
The NV passenger van can seat up to 12 people, and can be had with either the 4-litre V6 or 5.6-litre V8. All engine options are hooked up to a standard 5-speed automatic
The smaller NV200 van is powered by a 131hp/139 lb-ft (98kW/188Nm) 2-litre 4-cylinder motor hooked up to a CVT and can carry up to 1,500lb (680kg).
