The next generation versions of the Nissan Juke, Qashqai, Rogue/X-Trail and Murano SUV could gain the option of an EV drivetrain.
“We’re leaders in crossovers and a leader with Leaf and we will combine those two in the future,” Gareth Dunsmore, head of Nissan’s zero-emission business unit, told Autocar.
Currently, Nissan’s electric models (Leaf, NV200 EV, etc) are built on dedicated platforms. Dunsmore believes that the “next step is a platform fit for EVs from day one”.
