The Mitsubishi Lancer will be replaced in a few years time by a car based on as-yet-to-be-determined model from within the Renault/Nissan alliance.
It’s unknown how much differentiation there will be between the Mitsubishi version, and those sold by Renault and Nissan.
The Lancer replacement may be seen in other regions, including Asia and North America. In certain European countries, such as the UK, the Lancer has already been withdrawn from showrooms due to low sales.
Osamu Masuko, Mitsubishi Motors’ CEO, told Automotive News Europe that “we don’t have any limitations [for the compact]. If there’s a market for our vehicle we would like to sell there.”
