The Mitsubishi Lancer will end production in August, and won’t be replaced by a new model, but there should be enough stock to last until the end of 2017.
Don Swearingen, COO of Mitsubishi Motors North America, told Autoblog that the Lancer will end production in August 2017. It will be indirectly replaced by a new compact SUV.
As it won’t be replaced by a new sedan, Swearingen said that some of the demand for a Mitsubishi sedan will be handled by the smaller, but newer, Mirage G4.
The CY2A/CZ4A Lancer started production in 2007, and its platform is related to the PM Dodge Caliber, MK Jeep Compass and Patriot, Chrysler Sebring/200, and Dodge Avenger.
