The Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept has a new plug-in hybrid drivetrain and previews the look of the next generation Outlander SUV due for the 2019 model year.
The Mitsubishi GT-PHEV has a new generation PHEV drivetrain three high output, high efficiency electric motors, with two located at the rear axle, and one at the front.
There’s also high capacity battery pack, an engine “designed specially for the PHEV system”, and a full time all wheel drive system.
In EV mode the GT-PHEV has a driving range of 120km (75mi), and the hybrid cruising range is over 1,200km (746mi).
According to Mitsubishi the GT-PHEV “projects the image of a “ground tourer” – a car made for cruising across a vast land – expressing Functional Beauty, Augmented Possibility, Sculptured Dynamism, Japanese Craftsmanship.”
