The McLaren Elva is now available with a windshield, and it has actually improved the car’s looks.
The windshieldless model isn’t legal in all US states, so this new version fixes that. The windshield adds 44lb (20kg) to the car’s weight. Obviously the crazy air curtain system is deleted.
All Elva models (windshield or no windshield) have 4L twin-turbo V8 with 600kW (804hp) and 800Nm (590 lb-ft). The Elva is RWD only, and there’s no manual transmission, just a standard 7-speed DCT.
With the windshield, the Elva has a 0-100km/h time of 2.8s.
Only 149 Elvas will be built now, a decrease from the 249 limit set a year ago, and 399 at launch.
