For the 2016 model year, the Lexus IS range gains entry-level model with a 4-cylinder turbo, and mid-spec with a detuned 3.5-liter V6 and AWD.
The new Lexus IS200t has a 2.0-liter direct injection 4-cylinder gas engine with twin-scroll turbo and a standard 8-speed auto. The engine, first seen in the NX SUV, has a 241hp/258 lb-ft (180kW/350Nm), and is only available in rear-wheel drive.
The IS200t (above) directly replaces the IS250, which had a 2.5-liter V6. The IS250 was offered in AWD, to replace that car, Lexus has waded further into the murky waters of indicative model naming with the new IS300 AWD.
Despite the name, the 2016 IS300 AWD (below) had a 3.5-liter V6 detuned to 255hp/236 lb-ft (190kW/320Nm). AWD is standard, as is a 6-speed auto.
Lastly there’s the IS350 (below), which is available with both rear- and all-wheel drive. It still has a 306hp/277 lb-ft (229kW/376Nm) 3.5-liter V6.
