The Lancia Ypsilon (or the “Nuova Ypsilon” if you’re Lancia’s marketing team) has a new front fascia and grille, and updated interior.
Gone is the third-gen model’s deep chrome slatted grille, replace by a wider, color-keyed unit. Inside, on the top spec Gold model, is a new 5-inch touchscreen Uconnect infotainment system.
1.2 69 HP and the 0.9 TwinAir Turbo 85 HP with semi-automatic gearbox. Alternatively, there is the 1.3 Multijet 95 HP turbo die
There are two gas engines: 69hp/51kW 1.2-litre, and a 85hp/63kW 0.9-litre turbo with semi-automatic transmission. There’s also on 95hp/71kW 1.3-litre turbo-diesel.
There’s also two alternative fuel engines, a 69hp/51kW 1.2-litre that can handle both gas and LPG, and a 80hp/60kW 0.9-litre turbo that drinks methane and gas.
The updated Ypsilon goes on sale in Europe from September 2015. FCA says that 2.7 million Lancia Ypsilons have been sold since the name was introduced in 1985. We wonder how many more will go before Lancia’s time on Earth is out.
