The Lamborghini Miura is one of the most beautiful and well known supercars of all time, but where does its name came from, and how did it get it?
The Lamborghini Miura is named after the breed of fighting bull that originates from Ganadería Miura or the Miura Cattle Ranch in Seville, Spain.
Miura bulls are famed for their size, ferocity and cunning. Apparently Ferruccio Lamborghini was so impressed with the ranch and its bulls when he visited, that he named the company’s first production sports car after the bull, and used the bull for the company’s logo.
A number of famous Miura bulls have also lent their names to Lamborghini models over the years, including Reventon and Murcielago.
