A Camry-class vehicle, the Optima was first introduced in 2000 as a replacement for the Mazda 626-based Credos. The original Optima was a thinly disguised version of the Hyundai Sonata.
Until the current ground-breaking TF generation, the Optima was sold as the Magnetis in most global markets.
The current car is known as the K5 in China and South Korea.
