Both the Infiniti Q30 hatch and QX30 crossover SUV will be sold as the QX30 in North America, because unless you’re from Infiniti’s product department.
To partially sort this mess out, Infiniti USA has decided to brand all of its Mercedes-Benz A-Class/GLA-based models as the QX30, whether they’re jacked up, sporty or indifferent.
Arriving in the middle of 2016, the America bound QX30 range will consist of the base QX30, low riding
QX30 S (what the rest of the world will call the Q30), and the range topping QX30 AWD.
All models are based on the Mercedes-Benz A-Class/GLA architecture, but are built in Nissan’s UK factory in Sunderland. All US bound models are powered by Mercedes’ 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder gas engine, and feature a high number of Mercedes-Benz parts in the interior, including the Comand infotainment system and electronics switches.
