The GMC Terrain has been given a facelift, which brings more chrome and technology to GMC’s entry into the compact party.
Given that its brother, the Chevrolet Equinox, received its facelift earlier this year, it was only a matter of time before the Terrain had its go under the surgeon’s scalpel.
Externally, the 2016 model year GMC Terrain gains a revised grille with more chrome, as well as a new front bumper with a C-shaped chrome highlight and LED driving lights. There’s also new hood with a power dome on it.
Non-Denail models are equipped with new designs for their 18-inch alloy wheels, while the top-spec Denali features, you guessed it, a new look for its 19-inch rims.
On the inside, the centre stack has been redesigned with a more clearly delineated button layout, graphics and storage area. Also new is a chromey transmission shifter.
The revised lineup consists of the SL, SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT and Denali models. Premium cloth is now used on the SL and SLE trim lines, while “saddle up” leather is available on the SLT.
A 8-way power adjustable front passenger is now an option on the SLT, while blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert are now available on the SLE and SLT models. GM’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot is also an option on various models throughout the range.
Engine wise there’s a 2.4-litre 4-cylinder Ecotec motor or an option 3.6-litre V6 with 301hp (225kW) and 272 lb-ft (369Nm).
