After a seven year run, the Toyota Venza crossover-cum-SUV-cum-wagon has been axed, with production slated to end by June 2015.
Multiple sites are reporting that the officials at Toyota have decided to put the Venza out to pasture. Falling sales and increased rebates are cited as the main reasons for the car’s demise.
Data from Good Car Bad Car shows that Toyota was able to sell 267,698 RAV4s last year, as well as 146,127 Highlanders. By comparison, just 29,991 Venzas found their way into new homes.
Sales of the Venza peaked in its first full year on sale, 2009, when 54,410 units were sold.
