Ford has dumped 1.5L turbocharged gas (petrol) engine from the Mondeo range because of Europe’s strict CO2 emissions rules.
The only gas powertrain available now is the 139kW (189hp) 2L Atkinson cycle hybrid system also available on the Fusion.
There’s also a 2L EcoBlue turbo-diesel with 112kW (150hp) or 142kW (190hp) with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic.
The Mondeo is available as either a liftback hatch or wagon/estate. A new model with raised Subaru Outback style body, and a plug-in hybrid option will be launched late 2021.
