The Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator are great looking cars with a modern chassis and luxurious interiors, and they’re proving to be popular too.
Ford says the 8-seat Expedition is up 35%, while the Lincoln Navigator is up 70% to 17,839 sold in 2018. Transaction prices are also up, with the average Expedition selling for US$62,700, up US$11,700.
The company has increased production at Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville by 20% to account for the increased demand.
This will add 550 jobs after the summer shutdown in July, and help to offset some of the staff reductions Ford is making elsewhere.
