Fiat Chrysler is looking to increase its number of US dealers from 2,500 today to 2,900, with the Italian-American auto company keen to stop sliding sales.
Sources have told Automotive News that the company has already begun opening new dealerships. Some are already being built in Houston, Texas, a city already with 14 FCA dealers.
Some of the new stores are only miles from existing locations.
Sales of Fiat Chrysler vehicles in the US have been declining steadily since September, with market share in the fourth quarter down 1.5 percent from 2015.
In 2016, Fiat Chrysler sold 2,244,315, 408 more than in 2015.
