Sources have told GM Authority the Chevrolet Sonic has been discontinued in Canada, although the car remains on the company’s Canadian website.
Sales of the Sonic have slid in recent years, and its reported axing in Canada paves the way for a similar move in the US.
The Sonic, or Chevrolet Aveo and Holden Barina as its known elsewhere, has already been discontinued in many markets, including Mexico, most of Latin America, China and Australia.
In Latin America the Aveo/Sonic has been replaced by the Onix hatch and Prisma sedan, and in China it has been replaced by the Chevrolet Cobalt.
The Aveo remains on sale in South Korea, where it is produced.
