The J309 Chevrolet Orlando compact minivan has been quietly axed from Chevrolet Canada’s lineup for the 2015 model year.
George Saratlic, GM Canada’s PR manager, confirmed to Good Car Bad Car: “2014 was the last model year for the Chevrolet Orlando in Canada. There will not be a 2015 model.”
According to Timothy Cain’s analysis the Orlando was initially very popular. Introduced in 2011, the Orlando managed 7199 sales in 2012, its first full year — more than both the Mazda 5 and Kia Rondo, which it is up against.
Sales declined precipitously after that though, with sales falling 68 percent in 2013 and 43 percent in 2014.
The Rondo has already been discontinued, while the Mazda 5 is headed down a similar path too.
