The Cadillac ATS-V may get a more powerful version to take on the Mercedes-Benz AMG Black Series variants.
Car and Driver asked the chief engineer of the Cadillac ATS-V, Dave Leone, whether the company had plans for a more powerful ATS variant to take on Mercedes-AMG Black Series.
He said this in response: “We might have something down the road that is a little bit more aggressive.”
An anonymous Car and Driver source said that such a car would go on sale by 2017.
The current ATS-V sedan has a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 with 464hp (346kW) and 444 lb-ft (601Nm). It can do 0 to 60mph in 3.8s, and has a top speed of 189mph (304km/h).
A 6-speed manual with rev matching, no-lift shifting and launch control is standard. A paddle-shift 8-speed auto is optional. All ATS-V models are rear-wheel drive.
