The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe, to the surprise of no-one, looks like a S-Class coupe that’s been shrunk in the wash. It’s still very pretty, mind you.
At the front and sides, with the long hood and round shapes, it’s all C-Class, albeit with longer doors and frameless windows. At the rear, the design is eerily reminiscent of the S-Class coupe, right down to the taillights. Co-efficient of drag is 0.26.
A convertible will follow not too far down the track. The car will have its public debut at the September Frankfurt Motor Show.
Four gas engines will be available initially:
- C180: 115kW/156hp 1.6-liter turbo
- C200: 135kW/184hp 2-liter turbo
- C250: 155kW/211hp 2-liter turbo
- C300: 180kW/245hp 2-liter turbo
So far two diesel engines have been mentioned, a 125kW/170hp and a 150kW/204hp version, but there will no doubt be way more in the European lineup.
The coupe goes on sale from December 2015.
