In news that should surprise no-one, sales of the BMW i3 have increased many times over since the German government launched an incentive scheme for electric and plug-in hybrid cars.
According to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung sales of the updated BMW i3 to increase “many times over”. The updated i3 has a new battery pack with an EV range of 186mi (300km) compared to today’s car, which can only do 118mi (190km).
The German government recently introduced a scheme where buyers of pure EVs get €4,000 back, and plug-in hybrid buyers get €3,000.
