The awkward not quite an SUV, not a wagon, hatchback on stilts BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo will not be replaced, which will probably upset about 17 people.
At a recent shareholder presentation, BMW said “no successor model will be developed for the current generation of the BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo.”
The company claims “despite a good level of demand” it decided not to proceed with a second generation model, as it wanted to remove complexity from its lineup.
BMW says it is expecting “strong headwinds”, and need to continue cost cutting, as well as investing in new technologies, like electrification and autonomous vehicles.
