B7 NMS Volkswagen Passat facelift starts at $22k

Pricing for the facelifted North American Volkswagen Passat has been held steady, but value has improved thanks to added equipment.


Pricing starts at US$22,400 for the S powered by a 1.8-liter turbocharged gas engine with 170hp (127kW) and 184 lb-ft (249Nm). While the price is unchanged from the pre-facelift car, the base car now has the MIB II 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

It also has a 6-speed auto, 16-inch alloys, dual-zone climate control, reversing camera, and automatic post-collision braking.

The R-Line package starts at US$23,975, and adds 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/40 all season tires.

Next up is the US$26,280 SE that adds 17-inch alloys, power sunroof, 6.3-inch touchscreen, smart cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, fake leather, power driver’s seat, and heated front seats.

The SE Technology package at US$28,140 adds blind spot monitoring, rear traffic alert, keyless entry, push button start, hands-free trunk, frameless rear vision mirror, rain sensing wipers, and heated rear seats.

The SEL begins at US$30,495 with 18-inch alloys, Fender audio system, stainless steel pedals, rear leather seats, rear seat pass through, power front seats and driver’s side memory settings.

At the top of the 1.8-liter line is the US$32,270 SEL Premium with LED headlights, LED taillights, remote start, lane keeping assistance, active blind spot monitoring, parking sensors, and automated parking.

The top end model V6 SEL Premium has a 3.6-liter VR6 engine with 280hp (209kW) and 258 lb-ft (350Nm), as well as 6-speed DSG, hill hold control, chromed exhaust tips, and the ability to drink regular gas.
