Is building a large luxury sedan on a pickup truck platform a good idea? No, not even if it’s made in Italy.
The Aznom Palladium us based on the Ram 1500 pickup, but has a 5.7L twin-turbo V8 with 522kW (700hp) and 950Nm (701 lb-ft). Four wheel drive and an 8-speed auto are standard.
The unique exterior does a decent job of hiding its donor car, but once you know it’s a pickup underneath it’s hard to unsee. There’s a long trunk and short rear doors, and instead of a regular trunk area the Palladium has a slide out drawer thing.
The dashboard and Uconnect infotainment system are carried over, but the whole cabin has been retrimmed in rich Italy leather (that’s what Aznom specializes in). The rear seats have been turned into a couch and pushed far back into the extended cabin.
