The Type 961 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider has been priced at US$63,900 in the USA, and the convertible goes on sale in the US and Canada in the summer.
Mounted mid-ship, the 4C Spider’s 1.75-litre turbocharged engine makes 237hp (177kW) and 256 lb-ft (350Nm). 80 percent of the total torque is available from 1,700rpm.
Power goes to the rear wheels via a dual-clutch transmission.
The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider has carbonfiber monocoque chassis that weighs just 236 lb (107kg) and 2,487 lb (1,128kg) all up. It is able to do the 0 to 60mph run in 4.1 seconds, and hit a top speed of 160mph (258km/h).
The 4C coupe and Spider are made in Maserati’s Modena, Italy factory.
