If you’ve been wanting a proper 4-door aluminum Ford F-150 Raptor, the wait is almost over with the new SuperCrew unveiled at 2016 Detroit Motor Show.
As with non-Raptor models, the SuperCrew has a 12 inch (305mm) longer wheelbase at 145 inches (3,683mm) overall, as well as two proper rear doors for easy access to the rear seats.
Both the F-150 Raptor SuperCab and SuperCrew have a high output version of Ford’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo “EcoBoost” V6 with 450hp (340kW) and 440 lb-ft (600Nm).
The outgoing twelfth generation F-150 Raptor used a 6.2-liter V8 which had 411hp (306kW) and 434 lb-ft (588Nm). Performance and fuel economy should be markedly improved thanks to the new car’s 500 pound (227kg) weight loss thanks to the wholesome adoption of aluminum throughout its structure.
Power goes to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. Fox racing shocks are standard, while a Torsen front diff is optional.
The Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew and SuperCab go on sale this fall throughout the US and Canada.
