The Toyota S-FR concept is a small front-engine, rear-wheel drive coupe that has the Mazda MX-5 in its sights.
The S-FR is equipped with rear-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual. It has a 2+2 seating, although given that it’s under 4 meters long, the back seat will be very squeezy.
Japanese media says that it will have a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and will be priced at about ¥1.5 million (US$12,500), well under the ¥2.5 million (US$21,000) starting price for the similarly sized ND Mazda MX-5/Roadster.
