The much more conservatively styled fourth generation Chevrolet Spark made its debut recently at both the New York Auto Show and the Seoul Motor Show.
Underneath the new clothes is a new platform, chained to which will be a 1.4-litre Ecotec 4-cylinder engine that makes 98hp (73kW). The car is front-wheel drive, and can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT. 40mpg (5.9L/100km) fuel economy is claimed.
What it lacks in personality, the new M400 Chevy Spark makes up for with new tech features. In the US, the M400 Spark will come with a reversing camera and rear parking sensors as standard. Safety features, like forward collision warning, lane departure monitoring and blind spot monitoring, will be available too.
The new M400 Spark has a roof that’s 1.6 inches (40mm) closer to the ground than the current M300 Spark. A 7-inch touchscreen MyLink display is available on high grade models.
The M400 Spark goes on sale in the US from late 2015.
