The Scion iA, which will debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, will be the first sedan from Toyota’s youth brand.
The new Scion iA is widely expected to be based on the DJ Mazda 2 sedan and built in Mexico by Mazda. The iA will debut alongside the production version of the larger, E180 Toyota Auris-based Scion iM.
According to Scion, the iA name breaks down thusly. The i stands for intriguing, individual or easy on one’s income, while A is meant to highlight the fact that the car has an accommodating trunk and aggressive styling.
It could also be that the A precedes M, and the iA is smaller than the iM.
