The Toyota Tacoma mid-size pickup truck was introduced to North America in 1995. Replacing the Toyota Pickup, the new Tacoma shared its forebear’s Hilux underpinnings but added more tuning and styling mods to make it better suited to the American market.
A second generation model was launched in 2004 with more aggressive styling to help differentiate it from the Hilux sold in the rest of the world.
