Volvo is updating its design language as it plans on becoming an EV only brand by 2030, and the Concept Recharge previews what’s coming.
The Concept Recharge is still recognizable as a Volvo with the Thor’s Hammer headlights, iron mark, large portrait touchscreen, and thin vertical taillights, but the proportions are different because the car uses an EV only platform.
That means a flat floor, shorter overhangs, and more interior space.
Parts of the Concept Recharge’s updated design language should be seen on the next-gen XC90, which will have an EV variant, but will still be offered with gas engines and PHEV powertrains.
