SUVs are selling great right now, and the RAV4 is a strong seller, but the smaller C-HR is not. Which is where the Corolla Cross comes in.
Spy photographers have photographed the Corolla Cross testing in the US, and reports indicate it will be coming the US in late 2021 or early 2022 (if chip shortages continue).
Originally launched in Thailand in 2020, the Corolla Cross has conservative styling and the same TNGA-C platform as the Corolla.
It is larger than the controversial C-HR, but smaller than the popular RAV4.
Overseas it is available with a 90kW (121hp) 1.8L I4 hybrid, or a regular 1.8L I4 with 103kW (138hp) and 177Nm (131 lb-ft).
