The two Ford Fiesta diesel models in the UK range have been dropped, and replaced by a new 1L turbo I3 48V mild hybrid model.
The Fiesta was available since launch with a 1.5L I4 turbo-diesel with either 63kW (84hp) or 88kW (118hp). At the seventh generation’s launch in 2017, Ford predicted the two diesel models would represent around 9% of sales.
In the end they produced “very, very low” sales as Europe as moved away from diesels after Volkswagen’s dieselgate scandal.
They have been replaced by a new 48V mild hybrid gas engine model with a 1L turbo I3.
