Ford has confirmed production of the Flex production at its Oakville, Ontario, plant ends on November 25, 2019, and will result in around 450 jobs lost.
Lauren More, a spokesperson for Ford Canada, confirmed production of the Flex would end soon, and that production of the Lincoln MKT had already stopped.
The Oakville plant current produces the Ford Edge and related Lincoln Nautilus SUVs. While both these cars are far more popular, sales have slowed, and the company has cut around 200 workers to match demand with production.
The Lincoln MKT is being replaced indirectly by the Lincoln Aviator.
