2020 Audi SQ8 TDI is powered by the same 4L twin turbo V8 diesel engine with an electric compressor as the SQ7, and has a mammoth 900Nm (664 lb-ft).
Put aside your thoughts about diesel engines, this is one crazy engine.
The twin turbo V8 makes 320kW (429hp), and 900Nm (664 lb-ft) between 1,250 and 3,250rpm. 0-100km/h is done in 4.8s, and the top speed is limited to 250km/h (155mph).
The sequential turbos sit in the V, with the second turbo only kicking in a 2,200rpm, and the electric compressor helping to kill turbo lag at launch.
There’s also an 8-speed auto, AWD with 40:60 split, and a 48V mild hybrid with belt alternator starter to help with energy recuperation.
