The new 2019 Ford Focus ST has a turbocharged 2.3L 4-cylinder with 276hp (206kW) and 310 lb-ft (420Nm), but like all Focus models, it’s not coming to the US.
The 2.3L has standard Continuously Controlled Damping in hatch models, and an estimated 0-100km/h (0-62mph) time of under 6 seconds.
There’s also a 2L turbo-diesel with 140kW (187hp) and 295 lb-ft (400Nm), and torque vectoring control.
Both gas and diesel versions come with FWD, an electronic limited slip differential and a rev matching 6-speed manual. A 7-speed auto is optional.
There’s also 18″ wheels (19″ optional), larger brakes, 15% faster electronic steering, and a new steering knuckle geometry where the rod attachment point is 9mm (0.35″) further forward and 6.5mm (0.26″) higher than on standard Focus models.
The new ST is available in both a 4-door hatch and wagon bodies. They go on sale during the summer 2019.
