The 2019 Cadillac CT6-V, and its 550hp (410kW) 4.2L twin-turbo Blackwing V8, is already sold out, but the large sedan will gain a new V8 variant soon.
According to CarsDirect, the company will soon add a Platinum 4.2 model to the CT6 range with 500hp (373kW) and 553 lb-ft (750Nm) version of the twin-turbo V8.
That’s impressive, but down from the CTS-V, which has 550hp (410kW) 627 lb-ft (850Nm). The regular twin-turbo 3L V6 has 404hp (301kW).
Despite having less power and torque, the CTS Platinum 4.2 will be more expensive, at US$96,790 including destination, than the CTS-V, which started at US$88,790.
Only 275 copies of the 2019 CTS-V will be made, and all have already been ordered. The Platinum 4.2 will probably be a limited edition model too.
