The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE now has a 10-speed automatic on the options list for US$1,500 in addition to the standard 6-speed rev matching manual.
The new automatic option will be available from February 2019.
At GM’s 2.9mi Milford proving ground, the 10-speed auto is 0.5s quicker, and should be significantly quicker on longer tracks, like the Nurburgring.
For the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE has been tuned for fast shifts, and this has required changes to the tuning of the electronic limited slip differential, traction control, and Multimatic suspension.
There’s also a new transmission oil pan, and additional cooling duct for the steering mechanism.
