The 12th generation (E210) Toyota Corolla sedan isn’t scheduled to arrive in the US until early 2020, meaning the sedan will lag 18 months behind the hatch.
The new Corolla hatch, and future sedan, are all based on the TNGA-K platform, which sits lower to the ground, is lighter, and is much more fun to drive.
The hatch has gone on sale in US, Japan and other markets (European sales begin in early 2019), but the sedan is the preferred model in the US and China, and is in desperate need of a refresh.
According to the CarsDirect, preliminary order guides say the E210 Corolla sedan will arrive in US showrooms in early 2020, and will be all new.
It should be based on the TNGA-K platform, and will likely feature the same tech and engine options as the impressive new hatch.
